Jim “Mad-Dog” Mandich is back calling the Phins games on Miami radio 560 WQAM. Mandich served as the Miami Dolphins game analyst for 13 years before seeing the games shift to AM 790. Mandich will resume his analyst position after agreeing to a three-year deal and will share the booth with Jimmy Cefalo.
But hold on, there is talk that Joe Rose may leave 790 and join the duo to make a trio. WQAM has had some discussion on the matter according to Miami Herald writer Barry Jackson, but WQAM said that a three-man booth could only occur if Rose left 790 for a talk-host position at WQ. Mandich, best known for his “Alllllllllright Miammmmmi” scoring mantra, has been a popular fixture in Miami since his playing days.
For once, I think they got this one right. Mandich is as much a part of Miami football as Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas. In addition, Mandich makes new and young fans who dont remember his playing days start the google search and that leads to the glory days of his history.
”I’m delighted to be working Dolphins games again,” Mandich said. “It’s the most fun you have in broadcasting.”
