Shut up and play!

by Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins defensive backs don’t miss Nick Saban. Wah, wah, wah. Who cares? I mean seriously, I know it’s the offseason, I know it’s only the 2nd mini-camp of the season but do they not have anything else to talk about?

An article in the Miami Herald is reporting that the DBs feel more relaxed now than in the last 2 years under Saban. Cornerback Andre Goodman said, “It’s easier to work without the tension.” Travis Daniels who played under Saban at LSU said, “it’s a ”good” change“.

Still, with such a relaxed atmosphere, you have to wonder, or at least I wonder, if the lack of yelling and needle picking will help make this unit better? Or worse?

Last year the Miami Dolphins secondary was ranked 5th in total yardage given up though the air, however, they all combined for a whopping 5 interceptions. Andre Goodman, who is glad to see the change added “I knew I was prepared last year because of the way Saban prepared us.” So I take that to mean that being prepared means nothing if you’re not relaxed. Lets face it, coaches yell. Shula yelled, Landry yelled, Cowher spit. It’s part of the game.

This offseason has seen it’s share of drama. “I’m not going to be the coach of Alabama.” The hiring of Cam Cameron, the search for the new HC. It goes on and on and on. But this is starting to get a little out of hand. First it is Culpepper sending an email to the media, apparently it wasn’t Daunte the player, but Daunte the agent who sent that out. And, it seems the reason was because as an agent, C-Pepp didn’t like the way he was being treated. Can I get another… Whoopie?

The Dolphins have had seasons of 4-12, 9-7, and 6-10 the last 3 years. Those are not winning seasons. 9-7 you say? Well they watched the playoffs from a recliner the same as the rest of us. Thats a losing season.

It’s time for them all to just shut up and play. Until they actually start to win ball games, the rest is just whining. It’s pointing the finger and making excuses. After all, It’s always easier to blame someone else.

Hey there Blue. I think that the rankings are pretty accurate actually. With no clear starting QB and no true left tackle, i think that it is hard to justify anything higher when you factor in a new HC as well. I think that as the season comes closer and those questions are answered, the rankings will change.

As for this sight. I agree, Adam and Zach have done a tremendous job creating a very clean and professional web page. Im thrilled to be a part of it.

Contrats tx! nice site. I posted in the forum here but can't find it so I'll just copy from what I wrote from the other one. I'm seeing the rankings have the Fins at #23, but last year they were stopping most teams and had success with only giving up some short yardage plays. The additions to the team this year would suggest they are much improved to say the least and thus should be rated around 14- 15 at the least. Granted, offense is the major concern right now and hopefully if it is addressed properly this team can be a threat to everyone. Defense wins games, but offense is the insurance policy. I sure this year will surprise a lot of people out there. I for one thought the draft was ok, not steller, but ok. The addition of porter will pay back dividends for sure. This defense is nasty and will only get nastier. #23 my a$$.
I'm sure this site will take off quick. Again good luck.
