Goodman out indefinately after surgery

Goodman had surgery in January and reinjured his shoulder during a May 4th training camp. Should this injury continue into and through training camp, then according to the Miami Sun-Sentinel, Travis Daniels will slide into the starting role and Jason Allen will get a lot of playing time in the nickel package.

Goodman has put up decent if unspectacular numbers, 42 tackles and 27 solo. He had one forced fumble and no interceptions, which is not surprising since the entire Miami Dolphins defensive backfield combined for 5 total. The defense as a whole had 8 int’s, Zach Thomas had 1 and Jason Taylor had 2 that he returned for Td’s.

This recent bout of shoulder problems for Goodman does not bode well for a DB unit who although ranked 5th in the league in passing yardage, still had problems with giving up big plays at the wrong time.

No word on how much time Goodman is expected to miss.
