Daunte Culpepper is taking snaps under center…..maybe.
Over at the Sun-Sentinel, a gentleman by the name of Matt Baker had this to say while writing about the visit of Florida Governor Charlie Crist,
“I got to sneak a few peeks at practice in between watching the governor pose for pictures. The Dolphins spent most of the time I saw working on field goals, but I saw Daunte Culpepper taking a few snaps under center and Jesse Chatman taking a couple hand-offs with the first team.”
The Miami Dolphins are likely conducting OTAs this week, or “organized team activities”. A CBA way of saying that they really are not having real practices.
This information, to some, may be seen as a return to full health for Cpepp, who has, as we all know, been nothing since suffering a knee injury 4 games into his 2003 season with the Vikings.
It is nice to see that he can take a snap or two, but, I am not going to be jumping up and down until I can see him 1: run with the ball out of the pocket, and 2: stand in the pocket and make quick reads. Until that time comes, to me, our QB situation has not improved at all.
Perhaps this is nothing more than a message to Carl Peterson….”see, we don’t need your QB, ours is just fine“…..o.k., maybe not.
As for Jesse Chatman, well, someone has to work with the 1st team to get some work in other than Ronnie Brown. We all know by now, it’s not Ricky Williams.
