Shirdonya Mitchell was inactive for 15 games last season for the Miami Dolphins and was on the NFI list his rookie year.  Mitchell had 31 tackles and 2 INT’s for Frankfurt in 9 starts this year.  He returned 1 for a TD.

For the Dolphins, Mitchell will compete for a job as a corner-back.  With Andre Goodman nursing his injured and surgically repaired shoulder Travis Daniels would move back into the starter spot with Mitchell competing against Michael Lehan and Jason Allen in the nickel package.

Vickerson is entering his 3rd year as an NFL  player and started all 10 games for Cologne this year anchoring the leagues top defensive unit.  He registered 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks in those games.

For the Dolphins, Vickerson will compete with rookie Paul Soliai for the backup to Keith Traylor at the nose position.  Vickerson should have little concerns of making the unit, and many believe that Vickerson will be the heir apparent to anchor the Dolphins Defensive line in the middle.

The other profile Miami Dolphins player allocated to Europe is PK Sam.  He was the leading receiver for Rhein with 32 catches and over 500 yards.  He added 3 touchdowns and was player of the week twice.  He did not however receive All-NFL Europe honors.

Miami is one of 2 teams to have 2 players on the honored list.
