Mueller gets extended, Evans in deeper water

by Breaking News

General Manager Randy Mueller has had his contract extended through what is believed to be the 2009 season. Mueller is currently out of the country and was unavailable for comment and the Miami Dolphins released no statements.

Mueller had the opportunity to join the Tenn. Titans shortly after Cam Cameron was hired, but he chose to stay in Miami where he would actually assume the duties of General Manager. His contract extension was something that was expected.

On the Fred Evans front, more bad news has surfaced for the “Biting bandit of Southbeach“. He is currently on probation in Texas for possession of Mary Jane.

The arrest of Evans over the weekend will surely pull him back to Texas at some point where his probation could be revoked, further putting into doubt any chance that he may have left, in staying with the Dolphins. Should his probation be revoked, he will likely see time in jail.

Cam Cameron has stated that the Dolphins position would be to take a tough stance on this type of behavior. Many already speculate that this incident will cost Evans his job, with the news of his probation becoming public, it would literally be a huge surprise if Evans made it back into the Dolphins locker room to say good-bye and collect his things.

A lot has been made recently about the fact that Cameron is taking a hard stance on Evans and basically let the Joey Porter incident go unpunished, but make no mistake, these are two completely different incidents, and unless you are simply one of those people who like to have something to gripe about and find fault in the system, which in this case there is no fault, then of course you probably already know that there is a difference between the two.
