UPDATE: The hearing was moved to this Tuesday. There is a possibility that the hearing could be moved again due to a logistics problem. The hearing is scheduled to be held in Los Angeles.
The long awaited hearing in the case of QB Daunte Culpepper vs. the Miami Dolphins has finally arrived.
Daunte Culpepper will be sitting today in front of an arbitrator pleading his case for release from the Miami Dolphins. The Miami Dolphins will sit across from him, and tell the arbitrator why they think they are not being unfair. The arbitrator will let them know in about 2 weeks which one will win.
Daunte is trying to force the Dolphins to release him, citing a breach in his contract by not allowing him to compete or participate in team oriented drills.
We all know this. We have hashed and rehashed this from the day Trent Green was signed and DC walked off the practice field.
We saw Steve McNair file a similar grievance last year, however, the difference between the two was that McNair was not allowed at the training facility. At all. CPepp is allowed access to all areas of the Davie complex except on the field in team drills. He is allowed to workout and rehab his knee.
In any case, in about 2 weeks both Daunte Culpepper and the Miami Dolphins will know which to proceed next. If it is in favor of DC, we the fans, can expect a media E-mail from Culpepper announcing his triumph….would it be any other way?
