If Commissioner Roger Goodell and HC Cam Cameron want to make a statement, they will have another opportunity. Miami Dolphins WR Chris Chambers was arrested early Saturday morning in Charlotte, NC after being pulled over for driving impaired, reckless driving, and speeding.
Chambers has been in no legal trouble since his arrival to the NFL 6 years ago. He was arrested shortly after 2am and was later released after posting a 1700 dollar bond.
The Dolphins of course had no comment on the situation and although HC Cam Cameron has started taking a hard stance on off-field legal issues, Chambers is not likely to bring a harsh penalty outside of what will likely amount to a fine.
The NFL however is a different entity entirely. Although this is Chambers’ first run in with the law the NFL will likely do a thorough investigation into the matter.
The full details of the arrest have not been made public and both Chambers and his agent have refused to comment.
