UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE:

Chris Chambers - Photo Credit: Mechlenberg Police DepartmentUpdating previous reports about WR Chris Chambers, it was revealed that the Miami Dolphins wide out had passed a breathalyzer test conducted at the PD after his arrest.  The arresting officer has stated that Chambers failed several sobriety tests including not being able to stand on one leg, recite the complete alphabet from J to W, and was unable to count backwards from a preset number.  The officer also said that he had detected a very strong odor of alcohol.  This is the first mention of the substance that was in question with Chambers’ arrest.

The officer also noted watery and glassy eyes with slurred speach.  He was scheduled for court yesterday but was not able to make and thus the appearence is now scheduled for the 15th of August.

Miami Dolphins Media Director Harvey Greene issued a statement saying that “the Dolphins are aware of the incident and are gathering more information.”

Considering the that the state of North Carolina has a .08 alcohol limit, Chambers could have blown a .079 and passed, however, states have the authority to arrest and detain persons believed to be impaired although the limit was not breached.

Chambers still will likely receive some form of disciplinary action from Cam Cameron and perhaps the NFL.
