The expensive experiment known as Daunte Culpepper is over. The Miami Dolphins released the veteran and injured QB today.

The next stop for Culpepper will be up to him now. After rejecting the advances of the Dolphins’ trade attempts, DC gets the FA tag that he has said he wanted from the moment that Trent Green was obtained.

This could likely mean that the Dolphins are gearing up to get their draft picks signed and into camp on time. In fact it would not be surprising to see the them inked by weeks end….you heard that hear first, unless of course someone else already said it, in which case you heard it here second.

The next destination for DC is up in the air, however, do not be surprised if Daunte does not end up at least talking with the Atlanta Falcons following today indictment of Michael Vick regarding dog fighting. The other logical destination is Jacksonville, the team that Miami had a deal in place with but saw nixed by a pouting Pepper.

In the end, a horrible trade has been brought to a close and Daunte will be remembered along side AJ Feely, Lamar Gordon, and Joey Harrington. His 1 year in Miami was at least lucrative…for Daunte.
