Beck looking like Peyton Manning?

I bet that got your attention didn’t it? John Beck is no Peyton Manning, but those are the words of Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel as he described his first practice impression of the new Dolphins QB.

“Beck looked like he has completely mastered the playbook already as he was barking out last-second audibles and moving his receivers around a-la Peyton Manning in 7-on-7 drills. His pinpoint accuracy was also impressive as he made sure that the DBs couldn’t get hands on his completions to Michael Malone and former Michigan State stud Kerry Reed (who looked great out there). Green didn’t and won’t get reps during team drills until Saturday. And no Green didn’t storm off the field a-la a certain other QB.”

Beck is sounding like a gem in terms of the Dolphins future. Sure it is way too early to tell or even make a prediction. Still, as the Browns fans wonder when Brady Quinn will sign, and more and more negative press streams out about Quinn, you have to wonder if Mueller and Cameron were right in their thinking.

Beck was always an accurate passer. If what Fialkov saw today was what the Dolphins are going to see throughout the camp, the future may again start to look a little brighter. For now, good news is great news.
