Slow day at camp

by Camp News

The Miami Dolphins are scheduled to practice this evening and the players are scheduled to do a fan autograph signing around 6ish at the training facility.  This mornings practice has been characterized as “exceptionally boring”.  One news reporter said he had just spent “X” amount of hours wasting his life, time he could not get back.

The Dolphins have seemingly been takeing it rather easy.  There have been some hits here and there, but the “oooohhhhs and ahhhhhhssss” have been relegated to sideline catches and non-contact Lorenzo Booker runs.  That of course will change.

Tonight many assume will be the first hard hitting practice of the year.  It should be.  If you are going to acclimate your players to the weather slowly, there is no reason to have them making serious contact in the midday heat.  Tonight provides the perfect opportunity to start the hitting practice.

The defense is getting itchy, the offense is looking sluggish, and about the only real major surprise has been Brandon Fields.  And he is a punter.

How boring was this mornings practice?  The special teams which ran 45 minutes to start the practice, didn’t use any footballs on punt and kick off returns.  What kind of fun is that?
