MIAMI DOLPHINS PREGAME REPORT
October 7, 2007 – Apparently the ankle just didn’t feel
right, so true to his word, Dolphins linebacker Channing
Crowder will not be in the lineup today. But All-Pro middle
linebacker Zach Thomas is playing for the first time since
suffering a concussion in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.
He was inactive for the last two games but progressed this
week to the point where he was medically cleared.
Crowder joined defensive tackle Vonnie Holliday (ankle),
safety Travares Tillman (knee), safety Donovin Darius
(calf), defensive lineman Rob Ninkovich, linebacker Abraham
Wright, running back Lorenzo Booker and quarterback John
Beck on the inactive list. Beck will be the emergency third
quarterback. Derrick Pope is starting in Crowder’s place,
with second-year pro Rodrique Wright starting for Holliday
and Cameron Worrell starting at safety for Darius.
The Texans are pretty banged up as well, with wide receivers
Andre Johnson (knee) and Jacoby Jones (shoulder), cornerback
Jamar Fletcher, running back Ahman Green (knee), defensive
end Shantee Orr, linebacker Zac Diles, right guard Kasey
Studdard and right tackle Rashad Butler all inactive. Wide
receiver Jerome Mathis (fibula) has been placed on injured
reserve and Houston has signed wide receiver Harry Williams
and placed him on the practice squad.
