Well Miami Dolphins fans, the wait to see what is up with Lorenzo Booker may finally be over as the 3rd round RB has been practicing as a WR and could see action this Sunday against the Patriots, in addition the Dolphins added another warm body to the struggling defense.
Booker has been inactive for all 6 of Miamis’ losses and that inactivity has fueled even more questions towards Cameron and Mueller concerning a draft class that appeared to be solid at the start of training camp.
Booker was impressive during training camp and many media pundits raved about the former FSU running back. However, Booker became non-existent during pre-season games and has yet to step onto the field in regular season.
All of that looks to be changing. The departure of Chris Chambers is becoming a youth movement on the Phins offense. Derek Hagan and Ted Ginn both stand to see not only increased playing time, but at least one of those two should be on the field every play the offense has. Something that has not been seen in Miami since Chambers was actually drafted.
Whether or not Booker becomes a solid option as an H-back or 3rd down back remains to be seen, but at least for now, we will get a chance to see something.
In addition to Lorenzo Booker likely being added to the active roster, the Dolphins signed a big man to the defensive line on Thursday. Anthony Bryant who was on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad has been signed. The 6′ 3″ 335 pound interior defenseman has bounced around Tampa, Detroit, and Baltimore this year alone after being drafted in the 6th round by Tampa Bay. He is the 3rd warm body to be added to a depleted and injured defensive line.
