Trent Greens' Season is Over…Career in Doubt

by Breaking News

Web Weekend - Photo credit - Brian MillerThe rumors that have made their way around numerous media outlets concerning the return of Miami Dolphins concussive quarterback Trent Green, can now be laid to rest.  Today the Dolphins placed the QB on the IR list ending his season and putting his career in doubt.

The 37 year old QB was traded for just before training camp, a draft pick that now will officially become a 5th round pick after Green will not meet the 70 percent play condition on the trade.

Green suffered his second grade 3 concussion in a little over 1 year and his physicians have notified the team that they will not be clearing him any time soon.

To take the roster spot on the 53 man roster the Dolphins signed WR Kerry Reed off of the practice squad.

“I appreciate the way the organization has handled this,” Green said. “I realize this is in the best interest of my long-term health and I want nothing but the best for the team. Right now I haven’t made any decisions about my future, but I talked with the Dolphins about staying involved in some capacity the rest of the season.”

And with that comment, his NFL career may be over.  A class act from day 1 to the very end.

Green is a winner here even though he does not fill like it as he wanted to play. His family is the bigest winner even though his family was supporting him I bet his wife is very relieved!

A class act indeed. Too bad it had to end like this, but this was the right decision.
