Miami signs Free Agent CB, Toledo returns, Wright out

Joe Toledo - Washington HuskiesThe Miami Dolphins have had a very busy Wednesday. They have signed free agent CB Jereme Perry, they have placed inactive LB Abraham Wright on the injured reserve list with a knee injury, and activated offensive lineman Joe Toledo off the PUP list.

Perhaps the biggest news is the return of Joe Toledo. Toledo hurt his knee last year and spent the season injured, then while in off-season workouts, he slipped exiting the rehab pool. He injured his ankle, requiring surgery and was subsequently placed on the physically unable to perform list. His return will bolster an already productive offensive line. Although likely not to see immediate action, the Dolphins should get an opportunity to see if Toledo can finish the year out healthy. Drafted in the 4th round of 2006, Toledo has spent more time on the injury list than on the field. The promise that he was heralded as having has gave way to disappointment.

On the upside, if Toledo can remain healthy, he will only serve to strengthen a unit that was supposed to be the weak part of this team.

Jereme Perry last played for the Cleveland Browns. Last year he played in 12 games and recorded 16 tackles with two more assists and 5 passes defensed. He was cut by the Browns in September and has not played this season.

Abraham Wright was placed on IR with a knee injury. Wright has been inactive for all of the games this season as a 7th round draft choice. Wright had shown promise but is still considered a project.
