"Davey, We all know we need Defense but I also believe we need a bigposession WR and another QB to develop and OL. I am listing severalnames for each pick rounds 1-4 incase someone is not there. Also listedsome juniors who are projected to enter the draft. If I have our picksright(let me know if I am not), here goes:Assuming we are #1 overall, TRADE DOWN with Dallas for both of their#1’s (they may want McFadden). That would give us 5 picks rounds 1-3 inthe top 65 picks (actually 3 #1’s with the NE forfiet of #32).1st round (maybe around #10, praying for more Cleveland losses)DE Calais Campbell, Miamihttp://newnfldraft.com/2008-nfl-prospects/calais-campbell-2008-nfl-draft-prospect-update or DE Chris Long, VA or ILB Dan Connor, Penn St. or SKenny Phillips, Miami1st round (around #29/30, take the big posession WR here, future Bookerreplacement)WR James Hardy, IUhttp://newnfldraft.com/2008-nfl-prospects/james-hardy, or WR AdariusBowman, OK St. or WR Limas Sweed, TX2nd round (#33(actually #32), take best cover guy)CB Mike Jenkins, SF or CB Dejaun Tribble, BC or CB Terrell Thomas, USC2nd round (around #56, praying for more SD losses)OT Ryan Clady, Boise St. or LB Vince Hall, VT or CB Aqid Talib, KS3rd round (#65(actually #64)OLB Bruce Davis, UCLA or DE Phillip Merling, Clemson or OT Tony Hills,TX (if not able to get Clady)4th round (#97(actually #96, there should still be a top 10 QBavailable, someone will fall)QB Erik Ainge, TN or QB Chad Henne, Mich or QB Clot Brennen, Hawaii5th roundTo KC6th roundDB or Best Defensive Player Available7th roundBest Player AvailableBring in at least 15 undrafted free agents (TE’s, DB’s, OL, DL, WR)."

"My answer wil be 2-fold. Why? Because the draft can go in 2 different directions.First: Depends on Beck. If he works out alright and develops a rapport with both Hagan & Ginn, we can dedicate the whole draft on defense ONLY. NO offense because the defense is the weak spot of the team.If Beck doesn’t work out then some part of the draft must be adressed to the offense, specifically QB & WR.If we dedicate the draft on defense will be 2 fold too. Up till now the secondary is still a big concern if that continues to be the case that the first 3 picks must go for the seconday (1 cb & 2 S).We will also need to see if Soliai & Wright an step up to the plate. If not the the high pick will have to de dedicated to a DT & DT."

"I would trade down. I would take whatever I could realistically get even if it did not fall within what the “value chart” says. An extra 3rd is still a young body. That being said, I would not trade down to the mid round one level for nothing. I think our best bet would be to trade down a couple of spots, then trade down again, and then draft the BPA on the board. Gather up a few more picks and maybe even one or two for the following year."

Good stuff indeed. As for me, I’d want them to trade down and just accumulate picks. This team needs as many picks as it can get and trading down a few sports will do just that.

Some guy like Dorsey or Chris Long will really have to dominate at the workouts and combines for me to want them to use that high pick on them. I’d try to make a deal with whoever really wants McFadden, trade down and start rebuilding the defense with those picks.

We need to go secondary, especially corner, defensive line (JT‘s replacement and DT) and also linebacker (Zach‘s replacement and a running mate for Channing Crowder). And like Brian said, if would also be great if we could get an extra pick or two for the next draft.
