Dolphins Officially Ask to Talk to Sparano

UPDATE:  The Dolphins will meet tomorrow with Sparano in Dallas.  Sparano met with Atlanta owner Arthur Blank today.  Although Sparano is expected to be hired by the Dolphins, and an agreement will likely be made with a handshake tomorrow, Sparano will likely not officially be announced as the new HC until next week after the Dolphins fulfill the Rooney requirements of the league.

The news is far from earth shattering as it was apparent from the start that Tony Sparano of the Dallas Cowboys at some point would be interviewed.  Today, during a radio show in Dallas, Jerry Jones announced that the Miami Dolphins have requested and have been granted permission to interview Sparano.

The interview will have to take place tonight or no later than tomorrow due to league restrictions on interviewing coaches for a playoff team.

More as it becomes available.
