JS: There are a lot of fans who feel that staying at 1 -3 is important. However, I tend to agree with the author of the Mock on this one. Jake Long is a monster, no doubt, but most NFL pundits believe he will struggle at LT and project him more as an RT. In fact, as a pure LT, some believe that Ryan Clady is a better prospect, Gosder Cherilous, and a few others are well suited to the LT spot as true LTs. A trade with Dallas makes some sense as well because it gives us an opportunity to use one of those ones to possibly trade for additional 2nd round and maybe a day 2 as well as a 1 next year. You are right, one draft will not do the trick, neither will one player.

I would rather the Dolphins remain in the top five and draft Jake Long. They would probably have to remain at #1 to do this though given the fact the Rams would probably draft J Long. Left Tackle is a difficult position to fill and the Fins need one........bad. I don't think the Dallas trade happens. This one draft will not fix all the Dolphins problems. So get what you can......a solid left tackle - a solid cover cornerback, an offensive guard, a wide receiver or two, and if you get that, be happy. The Dolphins problems will not be fixed in one season.

Trading down would be great but I just don't see it happening. If we did however I would never draft Kenny Phillips. He is really slow, I believe Chris Long ran a similar 40 time and he's 270 lbs.
