It was one of the worst eras in Miami Dolphins history. The man calling the shots had as much knowledge of trading as the doorknob leading to a womens bathroom. The trade was simple, Adawale Ogunleye as pro-bowl DE for Veteran WR Marty Booker and a 3rd round pick. On paper it looks fine, but the Phins could have used Ogun…they could have drafted a WR, say Anquan Boldin, and instead of spending a 3rd round pick on a player who might still be on the team, they traded it to the Rams for RB Lamar Gordon, who was put on IR in year one and cut before year two. Booker would not go to the Pro-bowl and in fact, would be an overpaid (3 mill per year) number 2 wr who had his own bouts with injuries.
Well, today that trade has broughth Marty full circle as he returns to the Chicago Bears. Where not so oddly enough, Ogunleye still works the end spot, less productive, but still there and still a part of a Chicago defense that until last year was very good. I suppose this is fitting.
