Owners Approve Ross Sale

Posted by: Brian Miller

Today, the NFL owners unanimously approved the sale of the Miami Dolphins to Stephen Ross.

Ross is the owner of 50 percent of the team while Wayne Huizenga will continue to own the other half and maintain managing control of the franchise for the immediate future.  Ross will eventually buy out the remaining half to become the sole owner.

Wayne Huizenga has said that his sale of the Phins is with great sadness.  Ross on the other hand is a Florida native and long time Dolphins fan.  Ross was part of a group who tried to purchase the team after the death of Joe Robbie.  That group lost out to Wayne Huizenga.
