All Eyes Shift To Taylor
As fans of other teams have their eyes set on the draft Saturday, the Miami Dolphins and their fans seem to have their eyes on Jason Taylor. The question? Will he or won’t he be traded?
Speculation was that if the Dolphins selected a defender with their first pick that JT would all but be gone and if they Phins selected Jake Long, JT would stay. That does not seem to be the case at all.
Rumors began circulating yesterday that Bill Parcells and company have begun the process of finding a home for JT outside of Miami. CBS Sportsline reports that two teams have shown interest in the DE and that Miami is seeking a mid to late round pick in round 1. A price that teams are not likely to pay.
The point is that the Dolphins are trying. Whether to appease the rumored demands of JT himself or because they genuinely want to rid themselves of the 34 year old. Either way, it is the only real drama left for a team that finished 1-15 last year.
Some still believe that the Eagles, who had tried unsuccessfully to trade for Jared Allen, may be in talks with the Phins about JT. A trade involving Lito Sheppard could also net the Eagles an extra pick somewhere. Jacksonville, who offered a 3rd round pick, is still considered interested.
Once the first round is over however, Bill Parcells may be reluctant to trade him for anything short of a pick this year and a 2009 pick as well. So while all eyes appear to be on the draft, Phins fans should keep their eyes on JT.

Nobody is giving up a first round pick for a DE who turns 34 at the start of the season. I mean the Eagles will take him off your hands for a 4th or 5th round pick, but really you can’t expect a first for somebody that old.
