Chiefs Gain 3 More Picks, One More 1st

The Chiefs have traded DE Jared Allen to the Minnessota Vikings for 3 picks.   The Vikings will send their 1st round pick, number 17 overall, and both of the their 3rd rounders.  The Vikings earlier this week agreed to a contract for the DE.

Rick Spielman is running the show in Minny and he has been known to toss a few picks around from time to time as many in Miami remember.  The Chiefs now have two first rounders and could look to acquire more if the player they want is not available at number 5.  Perhaps the Miami Dolphins should have waited on announcing their signing of Jake Long.  A 1st and a 3rd could have likely moved them to 5.

In the first year of a rebuild there is no better place to start than
the most pivotal postion in the most important area of the team, the
offensive line.  With an offensive line coach at the helm this was a
smart, deliberate move.  Pick him, sign him, get him in camp.  No
questions, no seconds guesses.  Done.

Im still shaking my head on that one as well.

Although I like the Jake Long pick, it was nothing short of moronic to announce & sign him yesterday.

When you're on the clock, you are entitled to listen to offers up until the last moment, and we should have done that. I am going to spontaneously combust if the Rams or Falcons get a sweet payout for their pick because of a player making a late move up team's draft boards.

Those 3 QB's will not be there with the 2nd round 2 pick.  The Phins will likely trade down with the 32 and get more day two picks.

We should just stay with Long, great pick imo... We need to grab Quentin Groves or Calais Campbell with the #2 1st pick, and Chad Henne/Flacco/Brohm with the #2 2nd pick...then take Earl Bennett or Charles Godfrey with the 3rd round pick, and with the 4th look for  a OLB
