The Miami Dolphins today said hello to two guys while waiving good-bye to 4.
Signed are cornerback Scorpio Babers and linebacker Keith Saunders, and waived are defensive lineman Derreck Robinson, linebacker Abraham Wright, cornerback Aaron Lane and wide receiver Marcel Reece.
Wright is the name that most fans are already familiar with. Drafted in round 7 of the 2007 draft by Randy Mueller and Cam Cameron, Wright held some hope that he could make the team after rehabbing from an injury that put him on IR in his rookie year. Wright is yet another former body by a former regime that has been shown the streets as Jeff Ireland and Bill Parcells continue the Dolphins version of Extreme Makeover.
In other news, head coach Tony Sparano apparently had to clue in number 1 pick Jake Long on who runs the show in Miami. No, not Bill Parcells, new owner Stephen Ross. Ross an alumni of Michigan and heavy donator to the school was at Friday’s rookie practice. Jake apparently did not know who the man was. Or so the story goes. Although some believe that this could escalate, the apparent nearsightedness of Long was quickly put in place by Sparano.
