So Much For A Kicking Battle

The Miami Dolphins spoke as though Jay Feely’s job was seriously in jeopardy.  In an earlier blog today about the mini-camp I noted that our coach had opined that there indeed could be a kicking battle with a comment about keeping two kickers on the roster implying that Jay Feely may not be their guy.  Well, that is not the case…at least for now.

With the Phins sitting at a roster number of 80 the cutting of Rayner may be an indication of a rookie signing, perhaps Kendall Langford who has been in negotiations with the team.  The Dolphins would have to release a player to fit a rookie who becomes contracted.  It could also be an indication of a street free agent signing as well.  Earlier today the Dolphins denied any interest in signing a veteran CB to the team despite the injury to Michael Lehan.

The Dolphins waived Kicker Dave Rayner today leaving only rookie Dan Carpenter and Jay Feely on the roster to battle…not much of a battle if you ask me.

Are you kidding ?? This guy DC is a good kicker, have you seen his video? Google it, if he doesn’t make this team, he would be kicking for another team this year. He’s that good.
