Quote Of The Day

Todays “Quote of the Day” comes to us from NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus.  Drew had this to say last night on a local Miami sports extra show when asked if there is a front runner for the Miami Dolphins starting job.

Yes there is. Let me break it down for you.

The front runner is Josh McCown. Not because he is the best, but because he is the most experienced, now, of the three, John Beck is the biggest disappointment. There was all kinds of excitement about him last year, being a high 2nd rd pick, The Dolphins front office, at that time, was excited about him, I don’t think Beck has had a particularly good offseason, in terms of throwing the football, in the practices. From what I hear, he has been a disappointment. Here is one other observation. Chad Henne, he has a lot of talent, the most talented Quarterback, the players can’t wait until he’s ready, whether he’s ready this year is up in the air. McCown’s the starter, John Beck’s the disappointment, so far and it’s early Chad Henne is the quarterback of the future.

It can be noted that Drew is not the agent for any of Miami’s QB’s.  It can also be noted that John Beck likely never will be.

I will never consider Drew Rosenhaus a reliable source when it comes to rating QB’s. If he knew that much he would have a different job. What he knows is how to make his players the most money. Does it somehow give his opinion more credibility that he doesn’t represent any of the QB’s on Miami’s roster? Sure, I’ll admit that, but that is as far as it goes. Everything I have read from those actually at the camp’s and from within the team have said that Beck is right there with McCown. Which means he’s gone from bad to the level of a decent back-up. That is at least some improvement.

Sounds to me like Drew has been tanning too much! All of that exposure to the sun has gone to that boy’s head!

Yeah, Drew is the guy who gauranteed his client LB Dan Connors would absolutely not slip out of the first round…he went in the third!!!!
