Green Bay Asks About JT

by Breaking News

According to the Green Bay Gazette, the Packers have made inquiries to the availability of Miami Dolphins DE Jason Taylor.

Ted Thompson the Green Bay GM is a frugal trader who rarely trades picks for players and the Dolphins reportedly want a 2nd round pick for the “I want to play one more year” All-Pro.  It was only a year ago that Thompson refused to trade a 4th round pick for Randy Moss.

As the training camp season moves closer and the season as well, more teams will likely “inquire” about JT fueling more rumors about an eventual trade. While this new “rumor” sounds fun to speculate on.

Until the Dolphins lower their demand or are offered a can’t miss young prospect, JT will not be leaving anytime soon.

Updating reports, apparently Ted Thompson has spoken with members of the Green Bay coaching staff about Taylor, an indication that his interests are genuine.  Still, the price tag both in compensation and in the current salary is a bit much to ask.  While Green Bay would be an ideal “final” career destination for Jason Taylor, the reality is, this is still just another in a long line of rumors regarding the reigning NFL Man of the Year.

Would Favre come back?  Interesting question, I think he might want to, but would they take him back would be the question.  I think they are more interested in JT because their offense may not be as powerful this year.

I had to come back and note that I saw where this might depend on Jason being willing to play for two more years. Also that GB might be willing to offer a second rounder if the above was certain.

This begs the question, Will Brett come back if Jason joins the team?

There is speculation that JT will play for two more years if he is on a SB contender, if he is in Miami he will play one and leave.

Can't see we'd get much for a trade now that JT has openly admitted he's only playing one more year. May as well have him playing it here as anywhere else I guess...
