Injury Updates

Life is pretty busy around here these days with little bits of information popping up here and there…all the more reason to check back often and scroll the page.

So far the Miami Dolphins have only dealt with rehab injuries.  Meaning that no one has been seriously injured in practice yet…knock on wood…you do it too.  Jason Ferguson was taken out of practice on the first day, but that was for rehydration.  Joey Porter, Michael Lehan, and Steve McKinney have been the rehab children sitting out and watching…Porter had been spending time next to DC Paul Pasqualoni learning hand signals…will he be wearing the headset on defense?  Here is the update on the injury front.

Joey Porter – After missing the first two days with an ankle injury, Porter is back on the field in pads.  He is not full speed yet…in terms of actual speed…but he is the starting OLB.

Steve McKinney – Stevie M still has a little ways to go.  He is coming off injury from last season that saw him miss most of the season.  Tony Sparano says he is the least furthest along.  He is still rehabbing.

Michael Lehan – Michael suffered a sever ankle injury during mini-camps and at first it was thought to be worse.  He is still trying to recover fully from that injury and has yet to practice with the team.

Ronnie Brown – Despite a remarkable 10 month recovery from his ACL injury, Brown is still favoring the knee a bit.  His confidence must grow and it was reported that he felt a little tenderness after practice on Monday.  Nothing out of the ordinary for someone who had a knee job.

I will keep you posted as more news becomes available.

Ok, this can only go on for so long – am I the only one who thinks that Porter was only on the PUP list because he failed his conditioning test? It’s no surprise that the three no-names who failed it were cut, but Sparano & co. couldn’t bring themselves to cut Porter and/or Lehan, who presumably failed them as well. They just made them run sprints and crap till they could pass their tests…which Porter did on Monday and then was miraculously “healed”!!!

LOL…thats a good point. Wouldnt surprise in the least…now, on the other side of that, if in fact he did have an ankle injury that occured last week, then he may not have been able to pass the conditioning test….The world may never know…LOL
