It’s true. It is really true. Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said today that Quincy Carter is indeed visiting the team today for a workout. Has it really come to this? While he stressed it is only a workout…“Look-see”, the fact that he is even being mentioned is a sad state of reality when you look at the Dolphins QB situation.
I realize that Chad Henne is not ready for the NFL, but damn, shouldn’t the reigns just be handed to him instead of the remote consideration for Cocaine Quincy?
Sorry, Bill, Jeff, and Tony, but if you guys are seriously looking at what he has to offer your team, then this team is indeed in some serious trouble.
While I can not begin to fathom this thought, would it not make more sense to bring in, let me choke on this for a moment, Daunte Culpepper? Chris Simms via trade? Is Joey Harrington still out there? What about Drew Henson? Ferris Bueller?
Perhaps this is just a favor to the guy to let him see what he may have left…a message to other teams that he is healthy, oh who the hell am I kidding. This is just weird. I can’t wait to hear the reasoning…what it does say is that every time a QB is now released to the waiver wire, everyone has a legitimate reason to ask if that guy should be brought into Miami.
Quincy Carter…never thought I would see the day.

Some stones should remain unturned!
you are right…some “stoners” should remain unturned…LOL
Wow the writer had the nerve to bring up Harrington and compare quincy carter to that loser. at least quincy did see the playoffs unlike everyone he mentioed with the exception of culpepper who was ran out of town by a bunch of coaches who shouldnt coach pee wee league.
hmmmmm, a former cocaine user who last October got out of rehab…again for pot? Yeah, Harrington was mentioned and so were the others.
Quincy was a heck of QB during his days in Dallas, and actually beat out Romo for the starting job one year – if he’d been half as mature as he was talented, he could still be there. Parcells knows the guy pretty well, and I’m pretty sure he would not be giving him a shot if he wasn’t back on the straight and narrow. Also, he probably sees a chance to fire some coals under the QB’s you have. Quincy WILL push them.
I lived in Dallas when QC was there and believe me, the local radio hosts loved to rip on him. He was one of the Jerry Jones picks. He never beat out Tony Romo, in fact it was because of QC and his drug problem among other issues he had that Romo stayed on the team at all. Romo was set to be cut that year as the 3rd QB…when QC got in trouble he was cut. QC got into a heated fight with Jerry Jones on the sidelines in one game and lost his starting job. Parcells gave it back to him after QC sat on the bench..the first year BP got to Dallas is when QC got the starting gig back, but he screwed it up.
