Favre Traded To Jets

No reason for some play on words in the title.  No reason to get all witty.  Brett Favre, the unretired one, has been officially traded to the NY Jets according to several sources.  Favre’s trade finally puts to rest the on again off again retirement talk, trade talk, and a whole lot of distraction in Green Bay…for now.

While the trade of Favre was a long time coming, speculation began to surface last week that the Jets were interested.  NY has spent a ton of money this off-season in revamping the team in the hopes of challenging the Patriots for the division champion.  With approximately 60 million guaranteed over the next few years to only a handful of players, the Jets are trying an all out win now approach.

While Favre is far from a guarantee, his leadership capabilities far exceeds what is there now.  The Dolphins will get their first look at the new look Jets come opening weekend.  It is more than likely that Brett Favre will be the starting QB for that game.  With 4 weeks to prepare he should be ready to go.

The next question of course will be what will happen to Chad Pennington.  He himself the center of rumors over the last 2 years regarding being cut by the team.

Best news I’ve read for ages. In two years when the Phins are just getting their $hit together the Jets will be back to looking for a new QB. :)

Oh, and if he wasn’t keen on the heat in Tampa let’s just hope that we get a record day in SFla for week one ;)

all of that keeping up with the joneses that the jets are doing is nothing more than a temp win stint for them…if anythind fins fans know is the free agency is not for team rebuilding its nothing more than putting bubble gum in a leak on the titanic.  its going down regardless.  lol  J-E-T-S  S-I-N-K !

I can see it in my mind. Brett Favre struggles in a surprise loss to the Miami Dolphins on opening day. Will it be reality?, we’ll see. But I love that our Phins get the first shot at knocking Favre on his ass! As far as Pennington goes, He’s better than what we have right now. I think Henne can be a star but he is still a rookie.

It will be interesting and if nothing else, it will be fun to watch Favre…personally, I like him, but damn why did it have to be the Jets.
