Chris Crocker Promoted, Jason Allen Demoted

Phinatics.comIt seems all too familiar when you hear, or read, the name Jason Allen.  This time around, the 3 year FS has been demoted while FS Chris Crocker got the promotion.  Crocker the new blood Miami Dolphin was listed as the number 1 FS on the new depth chart.

Before anyone, including myself, start to rip Jason Allen, it should be noted that he hasn’t played bad thus far in pre-season and his energy level and enthusiasm has been through the roof.  This may simply be a matter of Crocker playing better.

The former Cleveland Brown and Atlanta Falcon has been in the league for 6 years.  Earlier this off-season when Chris joined the Dolphins, his agent said that he was coming to Miami and was told that he would be “competing” for the starting job.  Apparently he won it.

While Jason Allen still stands to see significant playing time this season, the fact that he has yet to make an impact since being drafted number 16 overall only 3 drafts ago is teetering on becoming yet another failed draft pick for the Phins.

Another one bites the dust. Maybe when Kyle Boller comes to his senses and plays like your typical Bears QB, we can trade trhem beck for Urlacher straight up! LOL
In my dreams. Porter was Urlacher “lite’…in HIS dreams.
I hate this, as for once we had guys in their proper positions. That’s all going to have to change, unless, as you (Brian) say, we can score someone of the cuts. Too bad Beck’s appearance was short and not so sweet.
I’ll bet we package him and one of our RB’s for a veteran LB, if nothing shows up cut-down day.
Cobbs or Parmele…they both showed well last week.

if anything i learned about that mess last year is that injuries are alive and well and happen quickly in the NFL and jason allen will have his time to shine.  the situation will present himself.  nobody wants to sit the bench so when his time comes he will make the best of it.  i like the mixture of bell and allen. crocker just makes the safety position appealing and stronger.
