The 1972 Miami Dolphins are legendary. For Phins fans, they represent the best of the best, for the outside world, well who cares what they think. Last year showed how difficult it is to start and finish perfectly. With the New England Patriots clinging to a perfect regular season, they couldn’t pull off the Super Bowl, leaving “Perfectville” still only inhabited by one. Tomorrow, we speak with one of those residents. Jim Kiick.
As part of the ’72 Kiick was the other half in the “Butch and Sundance” backfield with Larry Csonka, you can read our interview with him, here. Kiick and Csonka were well known pranksters from participation in an alligator in Shula’s shower to the infamous Sports Illustrated photograph of Larry’s middle finger.
Tomorrow we will get the Kiick side of the stories, talk about what it felt like to watch the winning TD scored by the Giants, and more.
A transcript of the audio file will be posted tomorrow while the audio will air in the 8 o’clock hour during “On the Fin Side” tomorrow night on Finsradio.net. On Wednesday that audio file will be added to the transcript article.
Following this interview later this week will be fellow RB Mercury Morris. You can find out more on all the 1972 players by visiting Mercury’s site, MercuryMorris22.com. Thanks to JS over at ZuckerSportsBooking for making this possible.
