Breaking News: Dolphins End Thomas’ Season
The Miami Dolphins today officially announced that their starting rookie guard Donald Thomas will miss the rest of the season after sustaining an undisclosed foot injury. The Dolphins placed the stellar rookie on IR this afternoon. In his place the Phins signed Evan Mathis, a nephew of former Miami Dolphins great Bob Baumhauer. Mathis was a 3rd round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2005 and has worked under Dan Henning and the Dolphins Oline coach, Mike Maser.
The injury was sustained in the 2nd quarter of the teams opening game against the Jets. Thomas, out of UCONN was a steal in the 6th round and Bill Parcells called him a “Godsend“. The Dolphins have little depth on the offensive line so they could be looking into further bodies off the free agent market.
