Dolphins Sign Guard Mathis

The Miami Dolphins signed former Carolina starting offensive guard Evan Mathis on Tuesday, perhaps a sign they’re quite concerned about the left leg injury that had starting right guard Donald Thomas on crutches Monday.
Mathis started 15 games at right guard for Carolina in 2006, the last season current Dolphins offensive coordinator Dan Henning served as Carolina’s offensive coordinator.  He played in only one game last season and was waived in the last round of training camp cuts this year. Carolina had taken him in the third round of the 2005 draft. – Miami Herald
