Dolphins Axe Continues To Fall

UPDATE ON TED GINN:  The Miami Dolphins said today that they are not moving Ginn to the 2nd team that they were only “experimenting” with Hagan.  However, comments made by Hagan seemed to point to more than an “experiment”.  Ginn will start on Sunday, how long he maintains that status will be up to him.

The Rumor on Finheaven.com was true,  Kirk Barton out of Ohio State has been claimed off waivers from the Phins.  Barton was released by the Bears earlier this week after being drafted in round 7.  He is an offensive tackle.  According to the author, Barton is on his way to Miami now to sign his deal.

Today, the Miami Dolphins have cut TE Sean Ryan.  No word yet on who will be replacing him on the roster.  Ryan was another one of the Bill Parcells free agent aquisitions and it is likely that they could go into Arizona with only 2 TE’s on the roster.  With Matt Mulligan on the practice squad they can at least afford to weigh their options.

Ryan was seen leaving the Dolphins training complex belongings in hand.

The move will likely mean either a practice squad promotion or a free agent signing in the works…likely an offensive lineman or possbily a WR…Terry Glenn maybe?  Doubt it but the speculation of course has to be there.

IN other news, a rumor is out there that the Seattle Seahawks are working on trading for Detroit Lions WR Roy Williams.  It would have been much nicer to say that the Dolphins were.

After game #1 I wonder if this isn’t a tactical move. Wilford to the #1 WR position for his height and Ginn to Slot for his speed leaving Hagan as the #2.

Wilford isn’t as quick but he’s 6’5″ and (pre-season aside) has good hands.

    what about bess?

  • http://phinphanatic.com Brian Miller

I think that Bess right now is the only reliable WR we have…honestly.  They really need to get him more involved…but he is a rookie…undrafted at that so I’m sure it will take some time.  Personally, I would like to see them bring in Roby myself.  FYI Ricky, I sent you an Email through the forum in regards to your response to my first one.
