The Miami Dolphins are heading west to the mile high city of Denver where they will play the Broncos in an attempt to stay in the chase for the…ummm, well….the….o.k. I will say it…playoffs. Miami is sitting at 3-4 while the Broncos are on a 2 game losing skid. Winning only 2 of their last 5 the Broncos will be coming off their bye week holding a 1 game lead in the AFC West.
For the Dolphins, the question is which team will show up to play? The team that shut down Buffalo, New England, and San Diego or the team [...]

What More Can Porter Do?
If you ask Joey Porter a question, you will get a wry smile and then an answer you likely wouldn’t have expected. He will tell you what you want to hear and then some. No mincing of words. So it really is no surprise that when asked about what else he has left to do this season, he hinted that the season sack record is a possibility.
Joey said that he would get 10 sacks this season, he has 10.5 already 7 games into the season so he has kept that end of his promise, now the 22.5 record held by [...]
In terms of professional sports curses, the Dan Marino curse is low, low, low on the list. The steal of Dan Marino in the 1983 draft followed by the record breaking career minus the Super Bowls of course ended with a wave of the hand as Dave Wannstedt simply pushed him aside. As we all know the Dolphins have been searching for his replacement ever since. It seems that just maybe, the Miami Dolphins may have found it in Chad Pennington…who today was named the NFL AFC Offensive Player of the Week. The 9th time in his career.
Penning10 has brought [...]
Seems there are two things you can be sure of right now. Eventually you will die and if the Miami Dolphins win…then you can bet that at least one of them will be nominated for a weekly award. This week, the Phins have 3 more nominations to add to their yearly nominations. Once again, HC Tony Sparano is nominated for the Motorolo HC of the Week.
Joey Porter has been nominated for the Phinphanatic.com Player of the Week…oh wait you already know that, o.k. so the NFL copied me and put him up for the GMC Sierra Defensive Player of [...]
AFC East Breakdown: Week 8
(Brian Miller writes for Phin Phanatic, which is FSB’s Dolphins blog. Representing the rest of the AFC East are Musket Fire, The J-E-T Press and The BuffaLowdown.)
The AFC East got tighter after the week 8 weekend ended. No longer are the Buffalo Bills standing alone at the top of the division as they find themselves joined by the New England Patriots. The New York Jets found a way to win in spite of the poor play of Brett Favre. What it means is that after 8 weeks of football, only 2 games separate the top from the bottom as no one appears to really “want” [...]
Player Of The Week
Well, this one won’t be an easy one by any stretch. The Miami Dolphins pulled off another upset on Sunday and this time did by taking over the 4th quarter and scoring 18 unanswered second half points following the Bills 3rd quarter TD that put them up 16 to 7.
Do you vote for Ted Ginn and his 175 yards? Do you vote for Chad Pennington for getting the ball downfield accurately to Ginn? Do you vote for the game changing defending LB Joey Porter for his non-stop harrassment of Bills QB Trent Edwards? What about a defensive secondary that kept [...]
What A Win
The Miami Dolphins are the epitome of hot and cold football. They have managed to beat the New England Patriots, the San Diego Chargers, and now the Buffalo Bills….what a win! Yet the team couldn’t put away the lowly Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans.
Today’s game showcased someone that most Miami fans, including myself, gave up for dead. Ted Ginn. Ginn’s career day was a long time coming. 7 receptions for 175 yards. Ginn showed what he can do if he can get downfield opening the game with a long vertical toss from Chad Pennington that [...]
Game Day Live: Miami Vs. Buffalo
Joey Porter Is POTW
Last week the Miami Dolphins lost a game that in all reality they should have won. Despite a solid game by LB Joey Porter, the Dolphins defense collapsed in the second half. It didn’t sway the readers of this site as 56 percent decided that Joey Porter should be last weeks Player of the Week.
His picture and stats will be added to the POTW menu page located at the top of the page.
Did you know it’s cold in Ohio? Of course you did, that’s why most smart people who dislike the cold live south. That’s where I am at right now, a week long vacation…if you can call it that, buried beneath a sweater instead of a simple long sleeve T-shirt….ahhhhh, visiting family! That doesn’t mean that there isn’t news to cover, and it surely doesn’t mean that the NFL, specifically the Miami Dolphins don’t have things moving along. So while I will be without my HD TV and my Sunday Ticket for a weekend, news is news.
The Dolphins announced that NT [...]
5 Keys: Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills, excuse me, the AFC East leading Buffalo Bills…excuse me….the 5-1 AFC East leading Bills are coming to Miami this Sunday. I only say that to remind any straggling Patriot fans that they are not…the leaders of the AFC East.
The Miami Dolphins will have their hands full with a team that keeps fighting, clawing, scratching, and everything in between to get victories. The Bills are playing very good football and will give the Dolphins a really good opportunity to see what they have against a team that they not only shouldn’t beat on paper, but really shouldn’t beat [...]
A Case For Henne
The Miami Dolphins may need to start thinking about the other Chad to lead their team. Now hear me out, I’m not talking about replacing Chad Pennington because he threw an interception on Sunday that was taken back for a touchdown. I’m not talking about replacing Pennington because he is playing poorly. In fact, Pennington is playing pretty good football right now, and that is part of the problem.
Chad Henne is the future of this team and I won’t bore you one minute saying that the Phins should put him in to see what he has to offer or any [...]
Injury Bug Hits The Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have been healthy all year. A bump here, a bruise there, but the injury report has basically been a two person list all year and they only showed up twice. The healthiest team in the NFL however, has finally been bitten by the injury bug.
On Monday, the Dolphins appeared to be heading into their week 8 match-up without their only “true” nose tackle, Jason Ferguson. The Dolphins won’t say what the injury is specifically but it is a rib or abdominal injury and it took him out of the Miami/Baltimore game this past weekend. He was missed [...]
AFC East Breakdown: Week 7
(Brian Miller writes for Phin Phanatic, which is FSB’s Dolphins blog. Representing the rest of the AFC East are Musket Fire, The J-E-T Press and The BuffaLowdown.)
The Jekyll and Hyde AFC East once again showed their opposite. Once again the Buffalo Bills stand alone on top of the division no one seems to want to run away with. The Dolphins flounder again proving that they can only seem to beat really good teams and the Jets showed why they epitomize the J & H label.
Buffalo Bills (5-1):
Looking back: The Bills lost 3 weeks ago to the Arizona Cardinals and spent their bye week stewing in [...]
