Breaking news:

The Miami Dolphins according to several news reports have traded Samson Satele to the Raiders.  The draft pick compensation is not known at the time of this writing and I will have more on this as news becomes available.

The Miami Dolphins may not have much going on right now and if you scroll down one article you can vote on our first pick for our interactive mock draft…the Lions are on the clock.  With the owners meetings in full swing, the talk of trades are the hot topics today.  Here are a few that may be of some interest to Miami fans.

Braylon Edwards from Cleveland is definitely on the market.  The NY Giants offered a 2nd round pick, a 5th round pick and one of their WR’s not named Steve Smith for the WR.  The Browns declined because they wanted both picks and Smith.  It’s now apparent that the team does in fact want to move the WR.

The Jets have inquired about Jay Cutler and a report indicates that the Broncos are indeed fielding calls from interested teams.  The team that gets the QB in a trade will likely have to redo his deal…it will be costly.

The Dallas Cowboys are shopping LB Bobby Carpenter.  Last year they refused to include BC in the trade that brought Fasano and Ayodele to Miami for a 4th round pick.  The Dolphins were very high on Carpenter last year and there is still a need for a LB on the team.  This is worth keeping an eye on because if the Cowboys can’t get what they want out of him, the Dolphins may come in with another pre-draft steal offer.

Tony Scheffler of the Broncos is on the trade block as well.  The TE was one of the better TE’s in the league 2 seasons ago before spending time injured last year.  When healthy Scheffler is a very valuable pass catcher with YAC ability that rivals that of Tony Gonzalez in KC.  The interest has been lukewarm thus far.  Don’t expect the Dolphins to be interested as Scheffler does not possess the blocking ability that the team wants.

The Broncos are also shopping young RB Selvin Young.  Young was a highly touted prospect prior to last season  but injury and spotty play dropped him out of early favor.  The Broncos RB’s were decimated by injury last season prompting the team to sign 2 RB’s at the start of free agency.
