The Washington Redskins tried and ultimately failed to trade with Denver for Jay Cutler. The Redskins however do not have a 2nd round pick as it was sent to Miami last year for DE Jason Taylor…who has since been cut. The Redskins made early waves by signing NT Albert Haynesworth to the richest non-QB contract in history making him the first 100 million dollar defenseman. Still the Skins are not without needs, despite their free agent spending habits.
DE - The Skins need help opposite Andre’ Carter but with only 4 picks in this years draft, the team is not likely going to be able to reach on anyone early.
OL – The Skins are in need of a line upgrade. OT and OG are positions of need and at 13 they should be able to find a good one.
QB – Say all you want but when your team tries to trade for a QB then it’s obvious they don’t like the one they got all that much. Jason Campbell is an up and down QB and it’s clear that the Skins are not sure he is the guy to lead them to the Super Bowl.
Secondary - Despite resigning DeAngelo Hall in the wee hours of early free agency, the Skins could use some depth. The problem is that the team needs more depth than anything else and with 4 picks, this position could go unaddressed this year.
DT – The Skins landed Haynesworth but after Big H they have a hole.
