No, this is not a Miami Dolphins post, this is a baseball post and one of the rarerest feats in all of sports happened moments ago when Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle threw a perfect game. Every now and then a no-hitter comes around in MLB and the media and fans eat it up. But a perfect game? Now that’s something that just doesn’t happen often.
A perfect game is simple. No hits, no walks, no men on base. In other words, the pitcher faces exactly 27 batters. No more. No less. What’s not simple? Actually achieving one. While this is not history in the making, the rarity is something that very few can say they witnessed. I must admit that even I missed all but the 9th inning, but the tension in that 9th inning was amazing.
Buehrle entered the game with a 10-6 record with 70 hits given up and 26 walks. He ended the game with a ground out to the White Sox’s short stop. Buerhle threw a no-hitter in April of 2007. He is left handed pitcher. For now, he is all the talk around the MLB.
Congratulations Mark Buerhle!!!
