Rookie CB Sean Smith, taken with the Dolphins 2nd, 2nd round pick has joined the Miami Dolphins officially as a signed member of the team. Smith, a tall speedy corner becomes yet another rookie to sign on the dotted line. He leaves first round pick Vontae’ Davis, 2nd round pick Patrick White, and 5th round pick Chris Clemons as the only un-signed rookies.
Smith will now compete for a starting job this summer, starting in a little over a week when the Dolphins begin training camp on August 1st. Smith’s full contract will pay him over 3 million, 3.1 to be exact, with 1.36 guaranteed. It represents a jump of 12 percent over last years selection, Dallas TE Martellus Bennett, at the same slot.
