It was so apparent when it happened on Monday night that today’s news of Patrick Cobbs season ending knee injury came as no surprise. It was so apparent that although I watched the game from a hospital computer stream that was choppy at best, I still saw him grab his knee and knew it was over. All that was left was the official word. That came today. The injury means that RB Lex Hilliard will now get more playing time.
Cobbs had become Mr. Versatility with coming in during some of the teams WC packages, spelling the R & R Express at times, and leading the team in KO returns, a duty that likely will be shouldered once again by Ted Ginn. Cobbs was one of Tony Sparano’s favorite players this past off-season and despite the ACL injury, will likely come back next season fighting just as hard.
Last night the Dolphins celebrated a huge victory on the National stage, today they move on from an injury to one of their more special players.
