John Nalbone was officially released by the Miami Dolphins on Saturday to make room for ??? Word has not resonated out of Miami as to who the 53 man roster replacement will be. Matt Roth perhaps? Maybe William Kershaw? The Phins are set to square off against the Jets in a matter of hours now.
Nalbone was a surprise pick of sorts in the 5th round. A Monmouth standout, Nalbone was never activated this season. The Dolphins originally planned to hide him on the practice squad but feared having him poached by another team. With 4 TE’s on the roster currently, 1 on the practice squad, Nalbone was moved. The Phins could still sign him to the 8 man PS unit if he clears waivers. That won’t likely be until Tuesday at the earliest.
