LandShark Stadium No More? Insider Says New Name Coming…Maybe

AUTHOR: Brian Miller | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: 3 Comments |

UPDATE:  The name change may only coincide with the Super Bowl and Pro-Bowl as the NFL will not allow the LandShark name for those events, according to an article that Igor sent me.  Beyond those events it’s unclear but speculation has been the owners will seek a permanent sponsored name.

The Miami Dolphins will be playing in a new stadium next year. Well, not a new stadium but a newly named stadium. A good friend of mine named Igor from DolfansNYC.com has informed me that he has obtained some information regarding the new stadium’s name.

According to his source, the new stadium name will be “Sun-Life Stadium“.  Sun Life Financial is a bank in Florida. Details of the naming deal are not available but his source claims to have working knowledge from a competing design team for the new logo. It’s unlikely that the deal would be anything remotely similar to the “Landshark” deal that ran strictly through this season.

Thanks to Igor for his inside information on this developing change.

How about flipping the bird to corporate sponsorship and just name it Shula Stadium?

  2. Rockphin says:

The reason for the name change this year for the Probowl and S.B. is because of an agreement with Budweiser and the NFL.

  3. Bud man says:

Rockphin is lost, Budweiser and Landshark are the same company.
