Sources: Taylor to Jets ‘Close to Done’

I know this isn’t what you wanted to read when you checked in on the site, but you have two choices. We can either BS you and help you all get to sleep at night or we can tell you the truth which oftentimes hurts quite a bit with this franchise. According to Tim Graham of ESPN, Mike Bernadino and Omar Kelly, Jason Taylor is very close to signing with New York despite reports to the contrary from his agent.

The reported terms of the contract would be two years for about 3.5 million dollars, the max the Jets could spend under the final 8 rules. Just let that simmer for a second while the Dolphins who could have easily outspent the Jets here to retain a player that legitimately wanted to return just sit on their hands.

This is Miami’s fault if Taylor ends up in those ugly green rags next year. This isn’t a betrayal by JT or a brilliant power play by the Jets. It’s the Dolphins front office being stubborn and letting a Miami legend hang out to dry at the end of his career. Now this offseason the Jets potentially may have added Antonio Cromartie and Jason Taylor to a defense that was already the best in the league DESPITE NOT BEING ALLOWED TO FREELY SIGN PLAYERS!

There’s not really a positive spin to be put on this. Just a very high probability Jason Taylor will end up playing for the Jets his last two seasons. Is anyone else nauseous?

  • mike zuppardi

yes i am because i have to deal with that meatbag on my team for the nxt 2 yrs…dolphins suck!

  • Mikefromjersey

Lol those green rags, the guys in those green rags r taking the division this year. The only reason players wanna play with fish on their helmets is cause ur located in Miami. And ur stadium is a shlthole made of rags. We will take ur retired hall of famer and give him something u’s weren’t able to give him in his 12 seasons–a superbowl!

  • 2madison9

OOOOOOO..big talk from Jets fans again. LMAO! Boy, I never get enough of this. I guarantee when we beat ‘em twice AGAIN this upcoming season they’ll still have something to say..hehehehehe. Give me a break

    GO ‘PHINS!!!

  • Phillip C

I will be glad when Tuna leaves. I thought I would never say that, but I will. I can’t help but be a little pissed at Jason Taylor as well. But this is all Miami’s fault. I have never seen such a stubborn bunch. Who could play at Jason’s level this coming year at that position. They do this crap every year. Just like they will past on a great wide receiver and we will have what we had last year. We should get by with the same record again. We sux!!!

Fin fan since 85′ and this is one of the darkest stains on that 25 year stretch.

  • nickzi

When the Jets get a quarterback, I’ll believe they are a real team, not just the Giants’ little sisters who the Colts and Bengals laid down for. So far, they’ve ruined their running game, picked up an idiot at CB, and they have next to no draft picks. 6-10 for the Jets next year, and they’ll still be wearing snot-colored rags to work.

    • MikefromJERSEY

Lol 6-10…that idiot of a cb we have doesn’t get in trouble with the law, unlike a couple fish this offseason did. He may not know what a condom is but he knows how to play football, and he’s playing on the number 1 defense in the league now he will go back to probowl form. Have a nice day. Oh and us being giants little sisters, to dumb fans sure ur gunna call us that..but we r coming up big and gunna be first tier in all of NY–NJ watch and see bye bye giants ur spotlight just turned gang green color baby here we r to stay–ON TOP

      • nickzi

Let’s see how the Jets do when they don’t have teams that lie down for them and give them the games that saved their season. 6-10 next year, and Cromartie will be a bust, as he was for the last threee years. You threw away Jones, your kicker is still working on hitting barn doors at five paces, and as for Running Scared Sanchez The Great Interception Machine, you can hide him for one more season, but you’ll be looking for a QB in the next draft to try and save the franchise.

  • MikefromJERSEY

The jets r an up and coming team, if u live in ny or nj u’d see how many people r wearing jets gear after we made the push in the playoffs. All I’m saying is the giants r gunna have to give us some room cause if not we r gunna take it. People r gunna jump over to the jets side after going far in the playoffs I think again this year, not that I think they should cause I hate people that switch and change teams but u can’t say that we aren’t gaining popularity. The giants arent even that good giving up all those points last year u can’t expect to go anywhere playing like that

  • MikefromJERSEY

Lol now I know ur just talking from pure hate and not from any kind of facts. And all u and the rest of the haters can say is teams laid down for us, if that was ur team u wouldn’t say a peep. It is what it is, we can only play who’s on the field at that time and the first colt game we were winning when Peyton was still in the game.this is my prediction this year, jets, cheaters, dolphins, bills in that exact order. Mark my words and parcells is almost done with u guys it don’t take long for him to quit like a baby when he doesn’t win. Good luck

    • D

Maybe you should actually watch that game again the jets were losing when Peyton left fool! lol

      • mikefrom JERSEY

“D” the jets were winning when peyton left the game, it was 18-15 when the jets took the lead caldwell told peyton that he was not going back in. maybe u should watch the game again fool! get ur game up and come back i’ll be here

        • D

Lol exactly, thanks for supporting my point. Peyton did not have a chance to respond thus he had the lead when he left the game. If he had returned 2 min later touchdown colts.

    • D

In addition we had the toughest schedule in league, lost starting QB and RB, 2 rookie CBs, and still had a chance to win last 3 games along with blowing colts and saints games in 4th. We have a tough division but Miami will have a winning record no doubt.

  • MikefromJERSEY

Jromer I agree with u, I know u hate the Jets-not jests or jits, and I can’t stand the dolphins. I know how it feels to want to keep someone–Thomas Jones but at least we got someone to fill the spot. But thanks for JT and ur rite he probably try and smash u’s just to send a big FU to parcells, and I hope he does, but JT couldn’t get to sanchez last year just to let u know

  • Deof Movestofca

First, let’s see if JT actually signs with the Jests before crying that the sky is falling. Second, even if he does, let’s see how the trifecta responds (or fails to respond) to such a currently hypothetical signing before criticizing them. It just might be that they have a plan AND that they are smarter than us. I’m not saying I agree with everything they’ve done, but rather that we might want to see how this all plays out OVERALL before becoming overly critical of a group that managed to transform a 1-15 team into a 11-5 team in a season.

  • mikefrom JERSEY

southbeach people from JERSEY don’t say joisey, don’t listen to all the shit u hear i lived here all my life and never once heard someone say joisey, only people that don’t live here cause thats what they “think” we say but they r wrong

  • MikefromJERSEY

Does not bother me, other than the parade in NYC after winning a superbowl they do charity work all in the state of nj. They donate money to schools in the area here not ny. So y would it bother me? I hate giant fans cause they don’t give the jets respect but it’s ok they don’t have to play us and that’s a good thing for them, cause I truly believe we can beat them. And the jets and giants put up their own money to build the new stadium so it didn’t come out of my pocket.

  • MikefromJERSEY

Peyton was thinking he was gunna go back in, but coach decided not to cause they were losing and the jets were rallying back who knows what would of happened, revis for a int and run back for a td? Maybe. Peyton passes for a td? Maybe. No one knows what would of happened but I love it when everyone thinks we didn’t have a chance, any team has a chance vs any team any week. Chargers always beat the colts, but we took the chargers out in a “real” game. Ur still a good guy but u hate the team I love. That’s how it is in the NFL. If the jets were the dolphins u wouldn’t have brought any of this up, u would of just been talkin about jt rite now..

  • 2madison9

Ok PATRIK believe me I get what you’re saying but THIS IS the last we saw of Mr. Cromartie hehehe http://hhboard.ihiphop.com/chat/457628-antonio-cromarties-facebook.html

I forgot about this game for some reason lol. All of a sudden I’m not so worried :-D
