I know this isn’t what you wanted to read when you checked in on the site, but you have two choices. We can either BS you and help you all get to sleep at night or we can tell you the truth which oftentimes hurts quite a bit with this franchise. According to Tim Graham of ESPN, Mike Bernadino and Omar Kelly, Jason Taylor is very close to signing with New York despite reports to the contrary from his agent.

The reported terms of the contract would be two years for about 3.5 million dollars, the max the Jets could spend under the final 8 rules. Just let that simmer for a second while the Dolphins who could have easily outspent the Jets here to retain a player that legitimately wanted to return just sit on their hands.

This is Miami’s fault if Taylor ends up in those ugly green rags next year. This isn’t a betrayal by JT or a brilliant power play by the Jets. It’s the Dolphins front office being stubborn and letting a Miami legend hang out to dry at the end of his career. Now this offseason the Jets potentially may have added Antonio Cromartie and Jason Taylor to a defense that was already the best in the league DESPITE NOT BEING ALLOWED TO FREELY SIGN PLAYERS!

There’s not really a positive spin to be put on this. Just a very high probability Jason Taylor will end up playing for the Jets his last two seasons. Is anyone else nauseous?
