Three days ago the Miami Dolphins had one and only one of their draft picks signed. That being 7th round pick, LB Chris McCoy. Fast forward and they now have 4 under contract. Today the Phins followed up yesterdays signing of A.J. Edds, with 7th rounder Austin Spitler and 5th round CB Nolan Carroll.
Spitler will receive a 40,000 buck signing bonus which will put his contract around 1.8 million over 3 years with a 4th year escalator that could make him much more.
For Carroll, the Dolphins haven’t yet announced the signing let alone the details of the contract but that shouldn’t be a concern given there is no salary cap.
The Dolphins will now continue their focus on the other draft picks yet to sign. First round selection Jared Odrick is not expected to sign anytime soon, but then again, the Phins usually get their guys in early with Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland holding the cards.
