The Miami Dolphins held their first press conference of the new season by announcing that all of their rostered players have passed the teams conditioning test. ALL of the players. Tony Sparano announced that all of the players are also currently at 100 percent and will participate fully in the training camp sessions. Phillip Merling aside.
If this is true, then we should see some great battles on the offensive line and especially at WR. It will be interesting to see if Patrick Turner will do anything.
Another interesting move is the situation surrounding QB Chad Pennington who many believed would be placed on the PUP list do to his mini-camp limitations as he recovers from shoulder surgery. He is 10 months removed. The Phins will enter training camp with 4 QB’s who could make the roster. The Phins are unlikely to carry 4 and what happens with Pennington will go a long way in determining what the team does at the position.
The Phins also released two players this morning, Ray Feinga and Dimitri Tsoumpas. Did you predict they would make the final 53? There is still time to get into that contest by voting and sending me your selections before you submit them. The voting poll closes at 9Am tomorrow and the person who comes closest to the final 53 will win a rare NFL book. Click here for more info and to cast your vote now.
