Allen's Injury More Serious? Phins Cut 1 Sign 2

UPDATE 2: According to Jeff Darlington, Will Allen had his knee scoped. While termed to be only a clean-up job, Allen will miss the rest of training camp and likely all of pre-season.  His availability for opening day will be in question.  This is the same knee he tore his ACL in last season.

UPDATE:  According to Mike Berardino the Dolphins today put CB Evan Oglesby on IR.

The Miami Dolphins are still trying to fend off the injury bug that is residing at camp.  While no official word on the severity of Will Allen’s knee problem, the Dolphins have sent him to a specialist to make sure.  The indication of such a move could mean that the ACL tear he suffered last season is not 100 percent quite yet.  Now the question becomes whether it’s more serious and something that may force him to miss a portion of the season.

To insure their depth at CB, the Dolphins today signed former Detroit Lion Kevin Hobbs.  Hobbs is a 4 year veteran who started 2 games for the Lions last season.  With the injury to Evan Oglesby and Will Allen, the Dolphins are looking for some camp depth.

The Phins also brought back Ray Feinga the offensive lineman they released at the start of training camp.  Feinga will provide depth for the injured Nate Garner who is nursing a nagging injury.

In order to make room for these additions, the Dolphins cut WR Taurus Johnson.  Johnson had little chance of making the 53 man roster and was competing for a special team job as a return man.  The Dolphins obviously feel they have better options.
