Breking News: Phins Trade Camarillo

If you listened to me last night on Finsradio.net you would have heard me say that the Dolphins could trade Greg Camarillo in order to keep one of their younger receivers. As usual, I got laughed at. Fast forward to today and Camarillo has been traded to the Vikings.

The sure handed receiver will become an immediate target for Brett Favre. the vikins lost WR Sidney Rice for 8 weeks earlier this week.

The release will give the Phins the option of keeping two of Patrick Turner, Marlon Moore, and Roberto Wallace.

UPDATE: The Dolphins will receive CB Benny Sapp in return. Sapp started 7 games last season and both playoff games. I believe the trade is is an indication by the Dolphins that they have concerns with the secondary. Perhaps Will Allen will not sufficiently recover to start the season.

I’m happy for Camarillo! This will undoubtedly be good for HIS career, but did we REALLY trade him for Benny Sapp?

Just how bad is Benny Sapp? All i hear is about us complaining about losing Camarillo although rumor has it that he was going to be cut shortly…

I liked Cam, but Hartline is a younger, faster version of him. Maybe not as good of hands, but Hartline has solid hands. I think this trade shows there are some serious concerns in the secondary.

I don’t know much about Sapp but we could use some veterans back there with the health of W.Allen in question. Camarillo is a good hands possession guy but this offense is becoming more than a simple possession team. In that sense, as I said on Tuesday nights show, Camarillo is similar to the other WR’s but older.
