The Miami Dolphins are turning over their roster left and right and now it is safe to say that they will not carry past mistakes on the team regardless of their contract guarantees. Last year the Dolphins brought in Oakland Raider tough guy Jake Grove. After an unimpressive season last year and an unimpressive training camp/pre-season, the Phins have cut yet another free agent mistake. Jake Grove is looking for a job.
The news comes only days away from the teams opening weekend in Buffalo and only two days after Bill Parcells mysteriously dropped the bomb that he was stepping down as the teams VP of Football Operations.
Grove made 14.5 million in guaranteed money from his move to Miami. Beaten out by 2.25 million dollar man Joe Berger, many felt that Grove would have been cut last Saturday when the team pared down to 53. His roster spot was taken by recently released Guard, Cory Proctor.
General Manager and whatever else his title is, needs to stop the flow of high-paid busts from the free agent market or owner Stephen Ross is going to stop some of these guys from calling the shots all together. From Ernest Wilford and CB Eric Green to Gibril Wilson and Pat White. The Dolphins have thrown a ton of money onto the street.
In more news from Davie, the team has voted it’s 4 Captains for the 2010 season. Special Teamer and RB Patrick Cobbs, OT Jake Long, LB Karlos Dansby, and S Yeremiah Bell.
