Greg the man

Hey guys, been off line for a while moving house etc etc …

This maybe a little late but I wanted to have  this posted earlier  but definatley want to give props to this guy!

December 16th 2007, Sunday afternoon. It’s a rainy, miserable day here in England. What’s worse, the Dolphins are winlessL.  So much for the Cam Cameron era!

But from that season of woe, one bright star shone and we avoided a disaster.  Coming into this game, we were 0- 13 desperate for a win and needing a spark! A player to stand up and be counted. Now here we are tied with the Ravens in overtime. It’s 3rd down and 8, Cleo “who” Lemon throws a simple pattern over the middle. A play designed just to keep the drive alive, the pass was to number 83! What the new 83 did will stay in Dolphin Folklore forever! Right there with going undefeated! (I, in particular was still reeling from losing “big” Wes to the Patriots).

Well, over here it was the following day when I found out … Wow!… we beat the Ravens? .. In overtime? Greg Camerillo? .. who?  Ha ha  ha whaaaat !! at last …..

Greg gave us everything! A real work horse, having some good years with over 110 catches in 3 years (nice work fella).

So he’s gone! It’s Hartline’s turn … Gregs a Viking now but that one catch saved us from the shame that only Detroit fans know ……. Greg you’re a “Player”

So thank you Greg!

I hope you have a long career and that you stay healthy.

Ciao

Down here in Mexico I never received a game at home, so I was a regular at the sports bar. I’d arrive a half hour early, first come first served, so it was well understood I was a die hard fin fan. As the winless season wore on I received a lot of ribbing, pity, etc/ One day a group of pats fans, were there and had to watch their team on a small tv, while I was watching the fins get blown out on the only large screen tv. I told the owner to switch them over. So here I sit watching the Ravens game, the closest we’ve come to winning, Lemon throws a pass over the middle, and GC takes off. Man they could hear me screaming 20 miles away. The entire bar erupted, including the pats fans I had helped a few weeks before. I received so many high fives my hand hurt, so many hugs you would have thought it was the SB. In fact it was better. I kept asking who the heck was that guy, I’d never heard of him. Of course his name is forever emblazed in my memory, and heart, right up there with the rest of the giants of previous Fin teams. For the next week or so if I walked around town sure enough someone would give me a fist pump and holler go Miami. When I walked home that afternoon I walked into my home, my partner was sitting there with a big grin, and I burst into tears! One of the great moments in my personal love affair with the Miami Dolphins. I’m sorry Greg is gone, but he is a pro and I wish him well. He’ll reside on my wall of fame.

Hey Brit! One of the privilages of living in this day and age. In my past I spent some good days living in London (44 Curzon St.) and apart from not understanding a bloody word the taxi drivers were saying, had a great time.
Our loss to the Jets//It’s a shame because two different bounces of the ball and we win the game, Jason A. is a hero, Kendall is a hero, H and H are heroes. Now let’s hope next Monday night we rebound and beat the Pats. Enjoy.. fred
